Terry Wheatley has served on the board as a non executive director since 2009. He has 40 years of experience of the global insurance and reinsurance markets, both as the former European CEO of Centre Group, part of Zurich Financial Services, and as an Underwriter at Lloyd’s. He was also previously the Chairman of Evolution Underwriting Group, an underwriting agency specialising in SME businesses, and in February 2016 Terry was appointed Chairman of the Lorega Group.
Neill Johnstone joined Lorega in 1988, shortly after obtaining his professional qualifications and was appointed to the Board in 1990. His early years were involved in the delivery of the company’s claims service, including managing the company’s largest ever loss arising from the New York terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.
In 2000 he took up the post of Chief Operating Officer, with extended responsibilities for underwriting, binder management, claims service delivery and corporate operations. With the increasing regulatory requirements, in 2005 his role was extended to include responsibility for regulation and compliance. He was appointed Group Managing Director in 2010, with overall responsibility for the Company and its subsidiary Lorega Solutions Ltd.
Andy Mintern qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PWC, in 1984. He worked in both the London and New York offices, where he specialised in corporate finance. He has since served as the Finance Director to a number of listed plc businesses. He uses his presentation skills, to write for a number of business magazines and has given lectures to the combined Institute of Accountants and the IOD on how to get more out of the finance function.
As a hands-on commercial director, Andy has a strong track record in working with businesses to improve management information and reporting systems to drive performance. He joined the Lorega Board in 2010, where he is the Group Finance and Commercial Director. In addition to finance, legal and commercial matters, he has board responsibility for the company’s marketing, brand and corporate communications.
Lee Bennett is Director of Operations. His role focuses on the continual building of the company’s operational capabilities and delivery of process efficiency, including ‘Lorega On-Line’, the company’s award winning on-line trading platform. Lee is responsible for managing its relationships with underwriters and the company’s internal support team. Lee joined Lorega in 2003.
Andrew Kilgour is Director of Broker Relationships and is responsible for the development of Lorega’s core business offerings and increasing its UK broker footprint. Andrew was Regional Sales Director for the Southern Region and has been with Lorega since 2004.
Angus Tucker is Director of Service Delivery, with responsibility for service excellence across the business, including the integration and alignment of new products and services continuing Lorega’s recognised high service standards. Angus is also Managing Director of Lorega Solutions Limited, the company’s chartered loss adjusting subsidiary, and joined Lorega in 2010.
Christopher Delacombe was appointed Company Secretary in 2010. He qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1983, was elected a fellow in 1993 and has since served as a Company Secretary to a number of quoted companies. He is also qualified as an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI). He previously served as a career officer in The Royal Scots (the Royal Regiment) until 1983.
